Back extensions

Primary Muscles Worked: Erector Spinae

It’s important to work your back muscles because it can reduce the likelihood of injury and ensure that the target muscles are being worked.  Performing this type of exercise will increase your ability to coordinate movement in your lower back.  Additionally, it has benefits such as increased endurance and better back posture.  Be sure to keep your head in neutral alignment the entire time.

Back Extensions 11. Start in a prone position on the floor with feet touching the ground and fingers behind the ears.

Back Extensions 22. Keeping feet on the ground, raise the chest off of the floor keeping head in neutral alignment. Return to start position.
