One fact about green tea that a lot of people don’t know is that it contains caffeine.
And if like me you’re allergic to caffeine make sure you drink the decaffeinated variety. Over the past few years green tea has become very popular and that could be because it is an excellent, effective and safe weight loss ingredient that also has the ability to oxidize fat in the body.
It has lots of antioxidants that are good for your heart. Green tea can be consumed in its rawest form as a drink or be taken as a supplement. This is one of the best herbs to lose weight and it has also proven to increase energy levels. Green tea also enhances the ability of the body to burn fat.
They have some really great detox properties. One of the main advantages of this herb is that it will cleanse your urinary system and will help to prevent any future problems occurring.

It is also known to feed the cells of the body which results in decreases in cravings. It is often utilized as an appetite suppressant, which makes it highly beneficial for both weight loss and weight management.
It helps activate the metabolism – your body will burn more fat and ginger is very detoxifying for your body. If you start your day with hot water with fresh ginger you will wake up your metabolism and you will feel less hungry during the day.
To go one step further make your own lemon and ginger tea (infusion) by simply halving and slicing a lemon add some fresh grated ginger and pour on boiling water. Delicious and very good for cleansing your system.
Chamomile Tea during the day will make you feel more at peace because it will help you stay calm. Chamomile also increases your metabolism and you will cleanse your body from toxins.

So that’s tea.
What about coffee?
Did you know that caffeine is found in almost every commercial fat burning supplement? There’s a good reason for that… caffeine is one of the very few natural substances that have actually been proven to aid fat burning.
Studies show that caffeine can specifically increase the burning of fat, by as much as 10% in obese individuals and 29% in lean people. They say that caffeine can therefore increase fat burning in the body and boost the metabolic rate.
As well as that coffee is loaded with antioxidants and beneficial nutrients that can improve your health. Caffeine can help you feel less tired and increase energy levels.
After you drink coffee, the caffeine is absorbed into the bloodstream. From there, it travels into the brain where caffeine blocks an inhibitory neurotransmitter called Adenosine.
When that happens, the amount of other neurotransmitters like norepinephrine and dopamine actually increases, leading to enhanced firing of neurons.
Many controlled trials in humans show that coffee improves various aspects of brain function. This includes memory, mood, vigilance, energy levels, reaction times and general cognitive function.
Well we’ve done Tea and Coffee, how about plain water?
That is one of the reasons it is so effective in aiding weight loss.. Every time that you eat something that you think you ‘shouldn’t’ go drink some water.
Water will help any substance that your body does not need exit safely and it will also greatly aid in transporting the necessary nutrients throughout the body.
Another reason why water is so popular amongst dieters is because it causes you to eat less. Before you go out where you know there’ll be loads of tempting but unhealthy food, drink water.
Water has a tendency to give you a very “full” feeling, and of course it is totally the dieter’s friend because it has no calories. Yippee.
There is however one side effect from drinking ‘too much water’, it will make you visit the toilet more often! A small price to pay I think.
Maybe not so much an ‘everyday drink’ but if you’re a red wine drinker, I have some good news.
Red wine, (and red grape juice) those that have dark red Muscadine grapes have something called ellagic acid (also found in strawberries, raspberries, walnuts, pomegranates, pecans, cranberries).
Apparently it has been found to slow the growth of existing fat cells and the formation of new ones, so your body can burn fat better. Ellagic acid can also boost your metabolism of fatty acids in your liver which can improve liver function and can lower blood sugar levels.
However, if you’re attempting to lose weight you don’t want to overdo the red wine at this stage. An occasional glass is good.
So enjoy all those everyday drinks to burn the fat and gain other health benefits as well.
