Do you have problems getting out of bed? Don’t worry, lots of people do!

I used to get out of bed between 11 a.m. and noon and that is probably because I worked as a server and went to bed between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. Nevertheless the real reason I got up late was because I was lazy. I wanted to stay 10 more minutes in bed, and that turned into more than an hour.

These days I ask myself, Why is that?

One of the reasons was because I was not looking forward to waking up. Driving my new car, playing video games and meeting a new girl were my motivations, but they were not motivation enough for me to wake up early.

This is why I understand people who don’t want to wake up early. They don’t have a strong enough motivation.

Now my life is different. I wake up between 4 and 5 a.m. and go to bed between 9 and 10 p.m. What has changed in my life that makes me wake up early are the secrets I am going to reveal to you here…

Secret #1 – I am hungry! I am hungry to help, to make a change in this world, to achieve my goals, to create, to learn, to become better and overall to achieve my dreams. I know that time won’t forgive me and will pass no matter what. And I want to choose and influence my destiny.

My dreams are big and ambitious. I know that to achieve my goal I need to work hard for it, and working requires time. Therefore, the earlier I get up, the more I can get done, the faster I can get to my dreams.

Write this one down, and make sure it is in your to-do list!

The only way to realize your dreams is by working for them. The bigger the dream, the harder you need to work, and the more time-consuming it becomes. But don’t worry about being too busy. It is fulfilling, and it gives you energy instead of taking energy from you.

This first step — having a dream and goals — will help you to wake up early.

getting out of bed_2Secret #2- I take a cold shower every day! Years ago I used to work for the Saint Regis, a five-star hotel. I noticed something unusual, a cold plunge by the hot tub. I asked a couple of co-workers why someone would want to jump into a tiny little hole filled with cold water. The answers were vague and made no sense.

So I wondered about that until I discovered that cold showers are very beneficial. Besides improving the immune system and flushing toxins from the skin, it keeps you warm all day, speeds up muscle recovery, builds strong willpower, aids depression and improves circulation.

The real reason I take a cold shower in the morning is because it wakes me up and puts me in a state of alertness and calmness. I am awake and ready to make thoughtful decisions.

With these two tools in my life, waking up becomes as easy as going back to sleep. Even before I to go to bed I am looking forward to the next day, my dreams, my goals and my wonderful cold shower.

Can you imagine waking up every day at 4-5 a.m.? I can, and maybe the difference between you and me is that I take advantage of these two tools.

If you want to be happy, make sure to dream and dream big, get ready to work for your dreams and wake up early. Use these two tools to do it.

Remember that it has to become a habit. Don’t give up the first week. Relapses are fine, but never go back to how you were.
