The 11th of May will be the international mother’s day, the perfect day to be grateful to all the mothers that are one of the most important pillars of families.

Christians started to celebrate it in honor to “Mary”, mother of Christ and this holy day was expanded to include all mothers. In the case of the United States, this special tradition started later on, and it was established by Anna Jarvis, who wanted to continue the efforts that her mother Ann Harvis made. She organized “Mother’s Day Work Clubs” with the objective of improving sanitation and health in her community as well as “Mother’s Friendship Day” to bring together again families that had been divided during the Civil War.
