In Part 1 Sonia Strong began her guide of ways and means for you to relax, find inner calm and energy and perform meditation for soul cleanse. Here she concludes her fascinating feature.

Here are my final six steps for attaining a positive meditative state to bring you cleansing calm as well as reinvigoration and clarity.

Indulge in Some Laughter Therapy

It might seem funny and so what if it is? Perfect!

No need to join a comedy club, just try and have a good laugh at least 10 minutes a day. There are very real proven benefits. It opens up blocked energy patterns, releases feel-good hormones and is even shown to act on and relieve certain aches and pains.

Do whatever it takes; spend time with the funniest people you know, watch Laurel and Hardy DVDs, stand-up comedy, sitcoms, whatever works for you. Just keep your mind open to the endless amusements in life and be prepared to laugh at them.

Energise Your House

If you can’t turn the place you live in into a haven of energy, you’ll struggle to find anywhere.

I light a candle each morning and evening. Fire has the capacity to burn negative energies. Fill your house with fragrance and aromas that relax the mind. Don’t forget to keep open windows as the resulting airflow takes away negative energy. Burn aromatherapy oils which have numerous benefits. My particular favourites are ylang-ylang, geranium, lavender and jasmine.

Inner Child Therapy

I’ve mentioned children before and they really can play a huge part. We all have an inner child within ourselves. Do things you used to love as a child — be it cycling, clay modelling, reading up on dinosaurs or pirates, doodling, drawing with colour pencils/crayons or even goofing around outside, climbing trees or jumping in puddles!

They help you shake off inhibitions and open you up to explore new areas of life.

Press the Right Points

Based on the ancient art of acupressure, stimulating pressure points is known to reduce stress.

During moments of stress, immediately press points around your eyes, your earlobes and the point between your nose and lips. These specific areas have a direct connection to nerve endings that control feelings of unease. You can also keep pressing your palms to get immediate relief.

You can book in for a reflexology session which is something that is growing in popularity. That’s because it really hits the spot! The pressure points on the feet correspond with major organs and various parts of the body.

Healthy Lifestyle

All the benefits and importance of a healthy diet, exercise and good sleep cannot be over-emphasized. It might not be possible for you to adopt a reliable and regular routine, but there will be nothing stopping you embracing good practices.  These might include having a ‘fruit day’ occasionally to cleanse the body, drinking enough water to flush out toxins (at least 1 litre per day). And if, for some reason, you are not keen on water, add a dash of fruit squash with no added sugar.

You can also count your steps while walking which improves concentration and can distract from negative thoughts and worries. Finally, have gratitude; Gratitude fills us with positive energy!

Clear Clutter

Clear your home, workstation and even your car. We all accumulate in these spaces and often leave it too long for a decent clear out!

And most importantly, clear your mind. Clutter creates blocks in the flow of energy within you. It might just look like physical clutter around you but it affects you within too. When these blocks remain for long, it spreads throughout your body and mind and this has a distinct habit of leaving people agitated, irritable and in a snappy mood.

Final thoughts…

Be aware of what you have and their blessings. Practice love and gratitude for everything you have, and try not to focus on the things you do not have. This encourages nothing more than negative feelings.

You may well have heard of something called ‘The Law of Attraction’ and it is a powerful thing. I encourage you to it out for yourself!
