So firstly let’s look at what is a detox.  Detoxoification is a way of getting rid of the toxins that everyone gets if you live in the 21st century in a city or suburbs, or countryside.   Unless you live on the top of a mountain and there is absolutely no pollution, you will get toxins in your body every single day.  You breathe it in the air, and if like me, you live in a big city, there are car fumes, and people’s breathing, smells, dirt, dust, all sorts of weird and wonderful things that come from just being alive.

So we need to rid ourselves of these toxins in order to stay healthy. And there are some great and very easy ways to do this on a daily basis.

Number One on this list of course has to be Water.  I’m sure you’ve heard this more than once but water is so important to so many vital organs. By helping to keep your bowels and digestive system well-lubricated, water helps to keep your body well-flushed of toxins.


Next try some tea.

There are quite a few teas that will help daily cleanse and they’re delicious too.  First up on the list is green tea.  It is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients that have powerful effects on the body. This includes improved brain function, fat loss, a lower risk of cancer and many other incredible benefits as well as helping cleanse your system.

Ginger is a very cleansing root, and when you brew it up as a tea it can actually be a satisfying beverage with a tart taste. The nice thing is that even though it has a sharp taste, it is gentle on the body, so you don’t have to worry about long-term use. This can easily become a daily tea that you can have each morning to start the day, as a midday pick-me-up, or as an warm up before dinner and another great one for adding to the daily cleanse routine.

Other teas to try are dandelion, burdock root, chicory, fenugreek, milk thistle, cilantro.  All these teas are wonderful for the digestion and help get rid of those nasty toxins so can greatly aid in your daily cleanse.

On a daily basis you need to get your heart pumping so daily exercise is a must.

Your lymphatic system doesn’t have a pump the way your circulatory system does, so it’s relying on you to get up and get active each day to keep your lymphatic juices flowing. I’m not necessarily talking about going to the gym every day but even a 10 minute brisk walk is going to help get you moving.

Start walking upstairs instead of using the lift.  Anytime you can walk, do, rather than drive the car, or ride a bus.  It’ll keep you healthy, improves blood circulation, improve heart rate, gets those endorphins working and makes you feel good.

Another great way to daily cleanse the body is to dry brush your body.

Take a dry loofah sponge and brush your body, starting with the extremities and working your way in. The best time to do this is in the morning before you shower, as it helps to slough off dead skin cells and reveal a new layer of skin and it also helps release those toxins.

Try and eat at least one superfood each day. So what are superfoods, well simply they are the foods that are so very good for you for all sorts of reasons.

Starting with A for

Artichokes help the liver function at its best, which in turn will help your body purge itself of toxins and other things it doesn’t need to survive. It ups the liver’s production of bile, and since bile helps break down foods that help your body use the nutrients inside them, an increase in bile production is therefore a good thing.  As well as all of the benefits to your liver, artichokes are also rich in fibre, protein, magnesium, folate, and potassium. Obviously artichokes are a very good food to add to your diet in order to stay regular, stay healthy, and keep your liver happily doing its job.

Asparagus is next on the superfood list. Not only does it help to detoxify the body, it can help you wage the anti-aging battle, protect you from getting cancer, help your heart to stay healthy, and is a general anti-inflammatory food.  Asparagus can help with liver drainage, and since the liver is responsible for filtering out the toxic materials in the food and drinks we consume, it will certainly help with the daily cleansing of your system.

Due to their fibre and antioxidant count Avocados are well deserving of their superfood label.  Add them to your daily cleansing and you won’t be sorry,

Other superfoods that you can add to your daily cleansing routine are broccoli, cabbage, grapefruit, kale, lemons.  Each one of these has amazing health giving properties that added to your daily diet can truly keep you on the great vitality path.
