Are you avoiding stretching because you do not have enough time?
By implementing a basic stretching routine you will enhance your mental focus and it will provide an adrenaline boost. When you first awake and you have had a restful night of sleep, your body is in a relaxed state, and more receptive to stretching!
Are you “trying” to “kick” the sugar intake?
We have heard that sugar (white and high-fructose corn syrup) have almost no nutritional value. But, I bet you are still reaching for it! Time to phase it out of your daily nutritional intake and seek out foods that have a natural form of sugar, and that will help “pull” the body’s “sugar trigger” and bring about a level of satiety.
Are you focused just on yourself?
Why? If you are dealing with a lot of stress, then one of the most beneficial activities you can do is to focus on doing something good for someone else.
Feeling guilty about taking a nap?
Well, just like you learned when you first started to attend school…taking naps are a good thing! Power naps (10 to 15 minutes) help replenish the body’s energy well!
Are you not asking enough and/or the right questions when you are in front of your doctor?
Are you of the mindset that you do not need to see your doctor on a regular basis? You might want to revisit your approach. There are different things that occur to people along their chronological journey.
Find out what medical tests are suggested to take based on where you currently are health wise, and ask your doctor the purpose of the test(s) to see if it is applicable to your current health and age!
Are you avoiding water, because it does not have any taste, or do you think that you do not need that much?
You should try to consume half your body weight in ounces of water per day on the average (ex: if a person weighs 180 lbs., they should try to drink 90 ounces of water per day). Adequate hydration leads to a better energy level, takes the edge off of your appetite, and helps lubricate your joints!
Are you taking a passive approach to your health?
If you are not taking an active role in your health, then you need to be your own advocate and do the research. You do the research on other things like your car, right?
So, don’t tell me that you just take your car into the garage and tell the mechanic, it is making this sound and I have no idea what it is or could be.
Well, your body is like a high performance car! Be prepared to keep it on the road!
Master these basics and you will be paving the way to better overall health!
