David Lyons has spent most of his life in the gym either training as a boxer/martial artists or as a bodybuilder. Throughout his fitness career he owned fitness centers across the US and developed his own initial line of supplements. After a career of training and working
with athletes and celebrities, David was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2006. Determined to inspire others with MS, David founded the MS Body Building Challenge to prove if he can beat the disease, others with MS can too. After successfully competing in a bodybuilding contest in 2009 at the age of 50, David and his wife Kendra founded the MS Fitness Challenge (MSFC) www.msfitnesschallenge.com to further his mission to inspire people to overcome major health issues and change peoples lives who are also dealing with MS. By sponsoring the MSFC, providing trainers to instruct people with MS in the gym and offering health promoting all natural supplements, David Lyons through OPTIMALBODY® walks the talk within the branded fitness community nationwide. He is opening a gym chain launching in spring 2016 called OPTIMALBODY Personal Fitness that focuses on results for people at any level.
Among his many awards David Lyons is the recipient of the Arnold Schwarzenegger Health Advocate Life Time Achievement Award and will be receiving the Lifetime Fitness Inspiration Award from the Global Bodybuilding Organization in 2106. Additionally, he is the author of his inspiring memoir Davids Goliath that tells the story of how he has overcome many challenges since his MS diagnosis at 47 years of age. David is currently working on his new fitness book for the challenged market with publisher Fair Winds Press.
