About me
I am a Consultant Dietitian in Specialist adult weight management and I also consult privately as a Freelance Dietitian. I am recognised by four leading health insurers: AXA PPP, Pru Health, WPA and Aviva. I am registered with the HCPC and I am a member of the British Dietetic Association.
I have experience working in both primary and secondary healthcare settings.
My private services mainly cover general dietetics however I have also had a good grounding in other specialist areas of dietetics as I have actively shadowed dietitians and independently consulted patients in a range of specialist areas including: Head and neck cancer, Oesophego-gastric cancer, General cancer, Stroke, Diabetes, Hepatico-pancreatico -biliary, ICU, Paediatrics, Gastro-intestinal, Nutrition support and Prescribing. During my final University placement I covered four main wards which included: Two Elderly care wards, Respiratory and Orthopaedics as well as one general out-patient clinic per week.
I have positively influenced practice through the education of other health care professionals and through general health promotion. I am a confident speaker and presenter. I have given many presentations and talks including educational talks and training to hospital staff including doctors nurses and other health professionals, Patient group talks and MUST training. I have also conducted research and audits including a MUST audit which was conducted at The Royal Surrey Hospital.My final year University research project was on the prevention of Diverticulitis by taking a daily Probiotic (Yakult). I have a particular interest in gastroenterology and I will soon be undertaking the Low FODMAP course for functional bowel disorders.
