We all tend to put things off until tomorrow because the conditions aren’t perfect. We’re tired. We have a lot on our plates. These are just excuses. While I’m not questioning your energy levels (or lack thereof) or your busy schedule, I do question your commitment to your health if these are regular explanations you use to excuse yourself from regular physical activity.

As mentioned above, exercise releases dopamine, which triggers our brain’s pleasure center. Unlike harmful addictions to things like drugs or to alcohol, using exercise as a coping mechanism is an incredibly healthy way to alleviate stress, anxiety and depression.

Here in the USA over two-thirds of the population is overweight. Of those overweight individuals, over half are obese. Millions of people the world over begin diets and exercise regimens, only to give up the second the caloric restriction or the soreness becomes too much to bare.

If you’ve read any of my articles in the past, then you know that exercise is NOT the prime cause of weight loss. You can have the best exercise program in the world, but if your nutrition sucks, so will your results! If you’re able to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet and couple it with a regular workout routine, you’ll accelerate your progress, and avoid the dreaded plateau.

Reason to Start Working Out # 3: It Increases Your Libido!

That’s right If you’ve struggled with your weight and/or your health, then you’ve probably experienced a loss of libido and overall sexual desire. Even when you’re being ‘intimate,’ you may have realized that you don’t have the stamina you once did, or the desire for your partner that you once had.

While this may be attributed in part to familiarity or to age, I can’t tell you how many times my clients both young and old have told me that they’ve experienced a significant increase in their sex drives just a few weeks into our program! If your love life between the sheets is suffering, then I can’t stress this benefit enough!
