Your alarm clock sounds and almost immediately the voices in your head are giving you every possible reason why you should turn it off and go back to sleep.
It’s too cold, it’s too dark, you’re too tired, too sore and achy to get out of bed and go to the gym…
So what do you do?
RELATED: RECOMMENDED PLANS FOR YOU
You hit the snooze button and buy yourself just a few more seconds in dreamland. As soon as you close your eyes and fall back into a blissful slumber you are rudely awakened yet again by the same aggressive alarm and repeat the process.
You know why you set the alarm in the first place. You know that it serves a purpose yet you still cannot fight the voices that tell you “Don’t get out of bed”.
Next thing you know you have missed your opportunity and not only wasted time but you are frustrated to have started your day late and not as planned. Sound familiar? And be honest! Let me teach you how to break this pattern.
The easy choice vs the right choice
Every day you have many choices you must make between what’s easy and what’s right.
– Do you cook at home and follow your nutrition plan or do you grab a slice of pizza and a donut for lunch?
– At work do you do your best and reap the benefit or do you cut corners and do just enough to get through the day?
– When you’re running late do you speed through traffic or obey the laws and ensure the safety of others?
These are all prime examples of the easy way and the right way. And the decision to get up and get to the gym is absolutely no different than these other choices.
You could easily set the alarm back and sleep another hour or two. But is that really the right choice?
If you have a goal and a purpose for setting the alarm in the first place, then it can clearly never been the right decision to ignore it and go back to sleep.
Remember why you started
What goal do you have? What dream do you have? Why is it important and why do you need to get your ass out of bed?
Think about this and remember exactly why you started this in the first place.
Now that you know why you started..
Are you really ready to give up on that?
Simply put – accomplishing your dreams come from small challenges repeatedly defeated until you reach your final destination. And today the challenge is getting out of bed!
You can defeat the challenge and be that much closer to your dreams, or you can let it defeat you and lose ground on already made progress.
Dreams vs Dreams
The difference between you achieving or failing your dreams is the simple decision to try. Even if you’re tired, sore and cold, if you get yourself in the gym I guarantee you will not regret it.
Even if you have the worst workout you have ever had, it will still be better than waking up hours later defeated and frustrated with yourself.
You need to be dedicated and you need to remember why you started this journey in the first place. The last thing I will say to you is:
“Everyday when you wake up you have 2 simple choices in life. You can either continue to sleep with your dreams or get yourself out of bed and achieve them.”
Which do you choose?
