What is Guided Meditation?
is when you are guided by a narrator, to relax your body and mind. This helps you reach a deep meditative state before being taken on a journey in your mind to reach a specific goal

The brain does not distinguish between a real or an imagined event so the experience you have with a guided meditation is a “real” experience and has an amazing effect on your life due to the way your brain works.
How Guided Meditation works
There are many studies that show that practising something in your mind is almost as good as practising it in real life. Therefore if you imagine something in your mind
, your brain takes it that you have actual experiences and it forms new neural pathways for future use.
Guided meditation helps to reprogram your mind
by directly accessing your subconscious mind and storing this for future use, you are guided by a narrator through a scene in your mind which gives you new and positive experiences to change your neural pathways and reprogram your subconscious mind.
Think about a faulty program installation on your computer, you need to re-install the program so that it works effectively and this is in very basic terms what guided meditation does for your subconscious mind
All you have to do is listen to a narrator for fifteen to twenty minutes per day to bring about the change you desire.
If you are like me and tried to meditate and found it challenging, thinking you have to clear your mind of all thoughts and sit in total silence and, end up feeling more stressed thinking about all the things I could and should be doing and got very uncomfortable and I gave up….then I encourage you to try guided meditation!
Meditation can help to reduce and remove stress
and replace it with a feeling of inner peace. It is one of the best tools we have, but I know it can be tough to meditate without a teacher or guide, I struggled with this myself when I started out.
So this is where Guided Meditations come in.
When meditating on your own it requires effort, whereas guided meditations walk you through the process- one step at a time and you may find this as easier way to reach a place of peacefulness.
Meditation can be simple and easy if you allow it to be and benefits can be seen in as little as five minutes a day, although I would recommend 15-20 minutes.
I practice meditation daily, sometimes twice a day and I use many different techniques
. It is about making your meditation practice unique to you
, I probably stuck with guided meditation for about 8 to 12 months before I moved to “freestyle” meditation and these are the techniques I now use: Guided and Unguided meditation such as Transcendental Meditation and The ThetaHealing® technique which is a meditation technique and spiritual philosophy that creates a positive lifestyle.
