You do not need a huge array of equipment or a gym membership to get fit, busy mums can do a lot to workout at home.  Keeping it simple still works as long as you do what works for you and get help as needed. As a mum you can add your kid(s) to your workout routine, making your workout more challenging and more fun.  Training with your kids will become a lifestyle for them, and allow you to juggle your busy life by multitasking babysitting.

3 Creative workouts for busy mums:

Pyramid

20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15 , 14, 13, 12, 11,  10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 each of  push, jump squats–here’s a full guide to performing jump squats correctly–and kettlebell swings.  The goal is to do this as fast as you can and beat your time when you do it again in 5 or more weeks.  This is to add a spark to workouts that you are doing already. Have water and a towel close to you during this workout.  Warm up first with this 5 minute video and cool down with stretches and water afterward.  Send me an email to let me know how you feel the first and second day afterward.

Powerwheel

Hopefully you have a power wheel.  If not think about getting one from here.  Worth the time and money, not expensive.  Choose an incline surface such as a wall, tree chair  or couch, get in the push up position from your knees, and roll out the back under your chest.  Do NOT go past your chest regardless of your strength or experience because you are may fall.

Jungle gym

More likely to use this outside but you can use it indoors as long as you have an anchor to put it on.  This is one of my favorite toys and I believe as a busy mum you will love it too.  Work your arms, back, shoulders, abs and legs with the one piece of equipment, not expensive.  The higher you are the less intense the workout. Here’s a guide on how to do a pull up correctly.

The lower to the ground you are, the more intense and fun the workout.  It may not seem like it but make sure not to swing.  Momentum takes away from getting the workout you need.  Pick your angle, do 8 or more pull ups.  Move your feet down a little to make it more intense if you desire other stay where you are, or move your feet forward to make it less intense.

Again you can use your jungle gym at home, gym and outside.  Your kid(s) are likely to love it but watch them carefully.  Learn how to use it, get familiar with it and there will be no need to rush. I have online programs where you get workouts and daily nutrition sent to your email month to month,  6 or 12 months.
