My favorite combination is what I call the “green monster”: a handful of spinach, a banana, a scoop of chocolate protein powder, a tbsp of peanut butter, water & ice. Get creative, the possibilities are endless!
Layer your favorite low-fat/low-sugar yogurt with the fruits of your choice, sprinkle with sliced almonds or crushed nuts & you have a healthy, filling treat. I like a tropical twist to my parfaits with vanilla yogurt, pineapple, & a sprinkle of coconut flakes!

If you love apple pie, you can get the same taste in an easy, portion-controlled serving without all the carbs & sugar! Most apples are around 100 calories & packed with fiber, vitamins, & nutrients. Core your apple, fill with your choices of nuts, oats & dried fruit, sprinkle with cinnamon, drizzle with honey or maple syrup & bake. Or try them in the crockpot or microwave!
5) Dark Chocolate “Bark”
It’s no secret that dark chocolate is a better choice than “regular”, due to its higher antioxidant & lower sugar content. The darker you like, the better! Melt some of your favorite dark chocolate, spread it on a baking sheet at add your choice of healthy nuts & dried fruit. Just be sure to satisfy your chocolate craving with intelligent portion sizes!
Who doesn’t love a warm chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven? But, who can eat just ONE if there are a a dozen lying around?! This is a great way to set yourself up for success (& eliminate temptation!!). For mine, I melt 1 tbsp butter in a mug, stir in about 1 tbsp stevia, 1/4 cup egg whites, a splash of vanilla, 2 tbsp of almond flour, a pinch of baking soda, & a tbsp of mini chocolate chips. 1 minute in the microwave & you can indulge your cookie craving!

If you love pumpkin pie during the holidays, you’ll love this simple way to enjoy the flavor year-round! Just mix plain pumpkin with cream cheese, greek yogurt, & pumpkin pie spices, then chill!! You can get a little fancy & add chocolate chips or nuts as well.It’s easy to get off track when the Sugar Monster rears its ugly head!
